She Adjusts Brains Through the Nose (Yes, Really) | Dr. Ang Returns | Part 1 | S2E19
She adjusts brains through the nose. And by the end of this episode, that sentence is going to make a lot more sense.
Dr. Ang Ribaste is back on Beyond Adjustments. Last time she was on, she told us her origin story: the car accident, the traumatic brain injury, and the comeback that rewired how she practices. If you missed that one, go back and hear it after this. It's the setup for everything we get into today.
This time, we go deep into the brain side of her practice at Prairie Village Chiropractic in Kansas: the tools, the program, the "brain on fire" clients who walk in overwhelmed, and how she rebuilds them one system at a time. This is Part 1 of 2. Part 2 goes into neuropathy and the practical half. Subscribe so you don't miss it.

You're about to hear a doctor describe adjusting someone's brain through their nose. And I need you to know that I have the same exact question that you're thinking right now. Welcome back to Beyond Adjustments, the show where we go past the crack, past the pop and the wow, I can turn my neck again and my back and the moment, all that. But we get into the real stories behind the people helping others heal. I'm your host, Amin Said. And if you were with us a while back, you met today's guest, Dr. Ange Robasti, owner of Prairie Village Chiropractic in Kansas. Last time she told us her story, guys, unbelievable story. If you haven't heard the episode, I mean she talked about her car accident. I'm I can't do it justice. Just go back and listen to the episode. It was a traumatic brain injury. It was a comeback that really rewired uh how she practices. And again, if you haven't heard it, go back after this one because it's the origin story and it's a good one. I promise you. Uh but when we recorded that first episode, uh, I kept watching the clock because there was a whole other half of what she does, and we never got to. So, like, you know, the tools, the programs, uh, the brain stuff, you know, that sounds like science fiction, but uh it's it's happening in an office in Prairie Village, Kansas. So uh we we we booked her again. Uh she was gracious enough to accept our invitation, and today we get into all of it. Dr. Ange, welcome back to Beyond Adjustments.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Thank you for having me.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. I'm excited to get into our conversation a little deeper than we did the last time. But a quick one to start, a little warm-up. The last time you told me you had just taken your first two-week vacation uh in your whole career. Question is did that ruin you or did you immediately start planning the next one?
SPEAKER_04What do you mean, ruin me?
SPEAKER_01For me, if I go on vacation, well, I have kids, I go on vacation and it's work. So fair, fair. So the older they get, the easier it gets, obviously. Now they're 17 and 14, so it's a little bit better now. But did did you enjoy it? Did you get rest? Were you ready for the next one?
SPEAKER_04Absolutely. And and it also reminded me that I can do it, right? Like, well, it didn't remind me, it told me I could do it, right? Like I could take two weeks off, you know, and clients were happy that I was taking the time because I because they see me work, right? So taking now I didn't take I have not taken two weeks this year. I have taken a uh broken week off, and then a couple weeks later took another one or close to a week. So no, if anything, it just lit the bug of me to be able to explore more.
SPEAKER_01Love it, love it. Keep doing that, keep doing that, and I'll live vicariously through you. So um can't wait to hear the next story. So I want to start with something you said the last time that stuck with me. You told me word for word. Uh, you um you said two years it was, and maybe maybe I'm paraphrasing, but you said two years ago, uh, I would have said I want to create a brain program, and now I'm in it. Um back then it was almost a dream, and you that you know you were describing almost and just kind of getting into it. Uh, so here's my follow-up. You're in it now. Like, what did you actually build?
SPEAKER_04But still building, right? Because it keeps evolving and I keep learning, and you know, my uh a lot of my learning comes from I keep hearing clients say it and they need help in it, or um, you know, I don't see them improve in a way, right? Like that. I I know that they can. So it just keeps it really keeps building. You know, the um and and um I I think it's starting to kind of fall into different categories where we have the the acute uh uh traumatic brain injury, concussion, and then we have the chronic that has been, you know, they're they're similar but different, right? Like they've been, they've had this problem or their symptoms are showing up later. And then we have the clients who are starting to struggle, notice they're struggling with their brain, either memory or focus, or they're in this overwhelmed state. And then we have the clients who are really they're they're they're older, often older, and just are in a deep to struggle. And then there's the part that I'm excited about that is coming very soon is that uh performance because I'm a pickleball player, and you know, I've been playing with my own brain, not playing, doing the treatment on myself, right? That I do recommend for others.
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_04Watching my game get better because my eyes move faster. So if my eyes, my brain works better, my eyes move faster, makes my hands move faster. My pickleball gets better.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. So so walk me, walk me, walk me through it. Somebody enrolls on a Monday, right? Somebody walks into your office. What does that first week actually look like?
SPEAKER_04What I'm seeing, like no, it's different always, right? It's different for everybody. But what I've seen recently with um clients walking in, that first week our objective is to calm their brain down. And it makes sense, right? Like whenever either there was a mechanical injury, like an accident, like I had, or there's a chemical injury because they've just been um out of balance for so long, or um an emotional, right? And their brain over time, they're trying to compensate, trying to compensate, and and the world around us is a little overwhelming at times, and we have a lot of stimulus that we weren't possibly designed to have. And so what happens is they're just I I there was a movie, there's a documentary, I think it was a documentary, I think it was a documentary called Brain on Fire on Netflix a couple years ago. And when I watched it, I was like, oh, I I the I believe the movie was about a virus, but that term stuck with me because that's how I would have explained my brain. And when I see clients walking in, particularly that first week, they've often reached that point where it's like it's on fire, either everything hurts or they're not processing well, or they're just kind of isolated themselves because everything is an irritant. So step one, calm it down, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and go ahead.
SPEAKER_04We do that with a lot of uh cold laser, okay, um, to increase energy production to help the energy production increase in the brain, and then um with the rebuilder medical to calm the system because it's very grounding. And we also use uh a tool that is new versus last year when we talked called the Resimax, which mimics a cat purr. And um, I don't know I'm a dog girl, I didn't I didn't know that the cat was so calming, but um, the cat purr tends to calm our nervous system, so we'll we'll use those tools, whichever ones work best for them, just to settle them first. Yeah, because if the brain's on fire, you can't go forward.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I want to get into the resimax tool a little bit later. Um, but who is this really for? Is it just the the concussion and kind of those kind of folks, or is uh brain fog, burnout? Um, I just don't feel like myself, crowd showing up too. Like what who is it for?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I haven't found many people it's not for yet.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and it and part of that is just it is that that the world in which we live in is a stimulant, right? Like, oh yeah, um, you know, it's busy. I can hear the traffic out my window already, you know. So my brain is paying attention to that, even though I'm doing everything I can to focus on you. Yeah, you know, but my brain still hears it, you know. So we go out to the world and our phones are dinging all the time. I swear I turn notifications on and they turn themselves back on. So everything is is like you know, pulling for our attention and it overstimulates us. We don't have time for that quietness to calm it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, that makes sense. Um, and and I know things are are always evolving. What what surprised you, if anything, kind of once you know, real people started going through it, and what did you have to kind of throw out maybe from the original plan, if at all?
SPEAKER_04Um I've added I I don't know that I've thrown anything out because it's all because the tools are everyone's so different on who needs it. Right? Like everyone is so unique. So we have some tools that sometimes I'm pulling out from the bottom shelf because someone needed that specifically.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah, but but you're you're um it's it like you're saying, it's not a one size fits all. Um, you know, this tool might work for Amin, but it might not work for Dr. Ange, or you know, maybe Salvatore might need something else or whatever. But um, you guys will meet Salvatore possibly this episode. We'll see. But um, so kind of a challenge question, I guess. Um maybe not a challenge question, but like for me, when something means something and it has an impact, sometimes I get this feeling in the back of my throat, almost like tearing up sometimes. But um, I'm sure you've seen results in this program. What's one that made you get that feeling, like the maybe tearing up that knot in the back of your throat that really maybe humbled you?
SPEAKER_04You only want one?
SPEAKER_01I want as many as you want to give me, honestly.
SPEAKER_04You know, um so the system that we use, our EMR, has a check-in. And um, I had a client uh that had a really bad uh TBI, and and I don't know if it was six months to it was a while, it had to be a good six months before she was like, What is that thing for? I'm like, Well, that's we check you in, you know, and um she's like, Why didn't I know that? I'm like, because you never could have before. And all of a sudden she starts checking herselves in, right? Like, um, or there's the client um who's doing so well, but after our, I think it was our first treatment, uh, the next day she said, that was the first time since I had a stroke. I haven't had to use my GPS to get home.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Right. Or the one who her goals were just to spend time with her friends because it was too overwhelming to go out to dinner, and her telling me about her plans, right? Or the the one that remembers their appointments and they couldn't at all, right? Like, yeah, you know, the and and I this one particular client is um when she came in, she was really struggling memory-wise. And little by little she started kind of remembering one visit to the next and her routine, and then like hearing her actually say, because first she couldn't tell, but then she's like, My memory's much better.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Yeah, I think I need to visit your office, I'll be there soon.
SPEAKER_04Um it does uh uh like I feel I know what you mean by it fits here, but for me it hits here, yeah. Right, like you know, and and I've been so grateful that it has been my entire career that awesome clients have, you know, I mean, they will call me when they have good and bad news to share. Right? Like I may be I may be in the list of phone calls, like the the family that the the husband that called me when his son passed and he didn't know how to support his wife, right? Like, I mean, I I'm grateful. I'm I'm honored that this gets to be my journey. Yeah, and it has its moments, it's hard at times, but like I am, I am honored.
SPEAKER_01What a blessing. That's awesome, that's great. I don't know how to transition out of this, Dr. Lynn. That's awesome, honestly. But um, why why don't I just break it up with uh I'll throw a fact in there. When I was putting together your episode, um I you know looked up some things, but I learned this. Tell me if you've heard this or if it's even true. But so your brain is about two percent of your body weight, but it burns roughly 20% of your energy, and it it does that whether you're like solving a math problem or staring at the wall. So the kind of the the I'm mentally wiped and didn't even do anything is a real thing for sure.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, in in here's what's interesting, and this has been part of the the thought process that I built some of this around, right? Like, is is I I explain it to clients, no, exact, no, probably not, but everyone can understand it a little bit easier, right? Like when you have um when you have an abundant amount of income and you make decisions differently, right? Like you may go on vacation, you know, you may buy a nicer car, you may move, you may go out to dinner, you may do all of these things, but if you if you don't, or that changes, you start to tear those things down to cover just the basics, right? Your rent, your mortgage, your your utilities, feed the family, right? Gas. So um the body works, I like the best way to explain it is similar, is that if you have the energy that you need, it has enough to run that 20 and do all the extra things you would like it to do. But if you don't have enough energy, especially 20, it's going to a keep the body alive first. Its first goal is to keep you alive, keep you alive, keep you alive. Right, and then there's all the extra things that are really nice, like what did I do last night for dinner?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And remembering those pieces and complicated problems, those are all like extra.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_04Right. Like, so I what I found is then when when either people are struggling with the process of producing energy, that's actually a lot of what the laser does, it helps with the ATP production. And so when people are struggling with that, their brain doesn't have the energy to remember what they did yesterday, right? Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_04So when you're using 20% in your brain, well, do I remember that or do I keep the heart pumping?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I I know people in my life, I mean, I I experience that too at times, but I know people in my life who um aren't in their prime years, right? Their health is not the best. So I I I notice that with them. Like if they're dealing with something chronic, like you said, their brain is really just trying to keep them alive. Um, and if you ask them what they had for breakfast, they'll say, What's breakfast? So yeah, so it I I've I've seen it. Absolutely. 100% makes sense.
SPEAKER_04The other place that comes in is when I'm seeing clients with chronic pain or even acute pain, but their body doesn't have enough energy. Maybe even they're not fueling themselves enough, right? Because we have to get the energy, you know. Our energy, yes, we get energy from the sun, we get it from the food, right? Like uh they may not be feeding themselves well enough to produce energy. It's not going to help the back. It doesn't matter how many times they adjust them, the pain response will continue firing from the brain until they have enough energy to change it.
SPEAKER_01For sure. Absolutely 100% agree. 100% agree. Um, all right, quick pause here because apparently uh microphones, editing, keeping the lights on are not paid for with good vibes and dad jokes alone. Um, but let me tell you about AI local boosts. So here's the thing I have learned uh talking to business owners, and honestly, it's the same thing Dr. Ann's you know just said about patients. Like most people are not really struggling because they don't know enough, right? Maybe there's that overwhelm. We'll get into that a little bit more and what tools that she uses as well. But um, there's just not enough time in the day, maybe, right? You know, you should be posting, replying to reviews, keeping your Google profile updated, adding fresh photos, uh staying visible. Dr. Ang, you and I talk about that all the time. But you but you know, you know, it just never makes it to the top of the list because you're you're busy, you're actually running the thing, whatever that thing is. And that is where AI Local Boost uh comes in and what it does. So it's it's a dumb for you system that keeps your Google Business profile active, optimized, and consistent. So you show up when people in your town are searching with out you having to think about it. It handles the posts, the reviews, the images, all the visibility stuff that quietly falls to the bottom of your list. You're uh you keep doing the work that you are great at and it keeps you found. Okay. Bills paid, back to the brains. So uh you okay, so I want to do something I'm calling kind of the toolbox tour. Okay. Uh, most people, when they picture a chiropractor, they picture a table like the one right there in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Um, or or a person and you know, uh, and two thumbs, maybe hands and cracking and popping and all that. But your office, in my mind, right, because I haven't physically seen your office, probably looks more like a brain lab. So, so so let's walk through your actual tools one at a time. I got a couple that I picked. Um, and um if you could just kind of maybe explain one, like I'm a curious patient, you know, not a doctor.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01Um, Dio, can we go through that? Sure. Awesome, cool. So the first thing I wanted to talk about, um, actually, we touched uh right eye the last time, um, but blew right past it. It's a camera that reads your eye movement.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_01Why do the eyes tell you what's happening in the brain?
SPEAKER_04Well, our brain is in this cavern, right? It's dark in there, I'm assuming. I haven't seen it, but I'm assuming it's dark in there, right? And so how does the brain? I'm gonna ask you a question now. How does the brain know what's going on?
SPEAKER_01Signals, nerve, nerve signals, energy, like electrical signals? Our senses, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_04So we tell the brain, right? Yeah, like as now it's uh it's this loop, right? So we tell the you know, you know, when we smile, we tell the our brain we're happy.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04When we laugh, it tells us we're joyful, right? So our eye movements, it's it's our our eye movements signal from the brain back and forth, right? Like so uh it can tell us a lot about what's going on. A lot of times when clients have um injuries, new or old, they have uh their eyes will have nystagma, so they'll bounce. And we can see that in the right eye. And what's amazing about it, I can see it right when I look at the clients and when I take them through exercises, but they get to see it too. So they get to see this is really what your eyes look like when you follow a dot. And so then there's exercises back, you know, to help reprogram some of that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04And strengthen just like just like a workout. It's uh right eye does the exercises, and um, and it's just like working out the eyes to try to reset them.
SPEAKER_01And is it like just like move movements, like looking up, like how what is it?
SPEAKER_04So the testing is a uh part of the testing is all uh just eye movements looking up. The other, um, because it's also designed to help with kids, is there's games. So like in an alien appears, and then there's four different creatures, three creatures in an alien around, so you get your eyes over to where the alien is and it blows up. Okay, or you or you're in the middle and there's ships that come in from every direction, and you have to look at the ships to make the ships blow up, and it's taking your eyes through all the exercises.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's cool. Yeah, I want to try it. Okay, I'll be right there. Yeah, um, yeah. Um, I'm not kidding. Next time, I don't know why I would ever be in that area, but if I am, I'm stopping by. Um, actually, I I got to I I met I met with um uh Dr. Daniel Kimbley. I've had him on my show a couple times. Um, I was out in the kind of San Diego area a couple weeks back. I got to stop by his office and see him. So maybe if I'm in your office, I'll or your area, I'll stop by your office one day.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. An excuse and chiropractic is here, so you can have an excuse to be here.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'll be right there. Okay.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh in fact, that's the end of our episode. I gotta catch flight to um, I'm just kidding. So the next tool I wanted to talk about um is uh interactive metronome. Um, your site, I read I read up on your site, it it says that it syncs the brain's internal clock. I love that phrase, and I have no idea what it means. So, what does an out-of-sync internal clock look like in a real person's day?
SPEAKER_04Um It could mean you you I mean it can mean a lot of different things, right? Like uh part of it is how smoothly can you walk? Right? Can you um can you cross-crawl, make your right side work with your left? Okay. Um can you reach for something and grab it? You know, um even how our thought processes go through, how smooth are they?
SPEAKER_02Okay, right?
SPEAKER_04Makes sense. Our thinking focus, our focus, um and uh how well we pull information when we're looking for it.
SPEAKER_01Well, what is what is the metronome? Because because when I think of a metronome, I'm a I'm a I play the piano, so I have a metronome sitting on my piano that does this.
SPEAKER_04You have guitars in the back and you play the piano?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01I do both okay the piano, guitar, drums, you name it.
SPEAKER_04But that is what it is, except it's a it's on a computer screen, and actually what you do is you try to clap to the beat. Okay, and you would pass the beat. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01I said, ooh, I would pass that test.
SPEAKER_04You think maybe maybe uh so you you clap to the beat, it has a little device on your hand that you hit, or there's uh a foot pedal where you you so as it gets advanced, you involve the feet, one hand, one foot, things like that to make it more advanced to where your brain is working more uh holistically whole.
SPEAKER_01Okay, gotcha. So kind of like trying to manage almost like two thoughts at the same time, kind of like trying to do two things at the same time sometimes.
SPEAKER_04Not exactly more uh you're using your right hand and your left foot, you're trying to connect your right and your left side of your brain. Okay, yeah, you want them to communicate better.
SPEAKER_02Okay, gotcha.
SPEAKER_04Okay, now um with clapping, kind of the same thing is it crosses the midline, you know, it's the same, right? Um, and it's actually working on instead of your brain doing so many things at once to keep you into focus, because then it has some distraction tools, and as someone improves, right? Like you it you bring in some distractions to try to keep them to be able to focus on what they're doing.
SPEAKER_01So I kind of like I relate that to maybe playing the a drum set because when you're sitting on a drum set, you're you know, you're playing a hi-hat, the bass with your feet, and your hands are all over the map, right? Yeah, and there's a ton of things coming at you. Sometimes there's a baby crying, sometimes there's you know, all these things, but you have to keep the tempo, listen to the lead singer, like all that. So it kind of like feels like you have to tie both sides of your brain in order to do that well, right?
SPEAKER_04Absolutely, yes. And music is I mean uh like playing a musical instrument is so good for the brain.
SPEAKER_01Okay, all right, yeah. Cool, all right. So maybe I'll do more of that. Um uh okay, so so this one I need you to explain slowly because all right, so this is the one I've been waiting for. All right, so and I might I I'm probably gonna say this wrong, but is it endonasal cranial adjustment? Is that how you say it?
SPEAKER_04Yes, or nasal cranial adjusting is really what we call it more. Um, this is the one that's really gonna get you to Kansas City, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause because you could just you adjust people through their nose, and I need you to walk me and every listener through this slowly and calmly before everyone googles it and panics. Like, what is this thing?
SPEAKER_04You wouldn't believe how many people come in and say, I watched this adjustment on TikTok, and I was like, I do that adjustment.
SPEAKER_00Okay, you know.
SPEAKER_04Um, so first I want to tell you why I do it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so while I was in the process of healing, um, there was a little uh so many things have got had gotten better, and I was functioning closer to we'll say normal. Um, but I was really close to overwhelm. It didn't take a lot to still hit that, even though I was I was functioning in a normal environment, like I couldn't do two things in the same day or like go out too much, right? Like or go to a concert and then expect to feel good the next day, but I could at least go. So the big piece though is I am an avid reader and I could not remember anything I read. Oh, it took so much focus and concentration for me to remember outside of a story. Like I could do a little bit of fiction, but I would list lose a lot of the story. So um I asked, uh, I've I've been to I'm not sure how many seminars of Dr. Dan Murphy's and and I I asked him, I was like, what do I do now? And he said the nasal cranial. So I went to Wichita and his uh lovely wife, Dr. Michelle, um, did that on me. And um I the following week, I'm standing in my office and I'm telling a client, so in this book I'm reading, and I'm like, Oh my gosh, I haven't said that in like seven years, six years.
SPEAKER_01Wow, and all of a sudden that was like the aha moment for him.
SPEAKER_04Yes, oh wow, and so while while I was at the seminar, he's like, You should come to California and learn this. And I was like, Okay, yeah, yeah. So initially thinking that's mainly what I would do it for, but what I'm what I see, right? Like it's we if you look on PubMed, the research is about um allergies. So I've seen great things with allergies, but like that click where someone's brain kind of pops up is amazing, right? Now I do not adjust the brain. I want to rephrase that. I know you said that in the opening. This is not an adjustment on the actual yeah, it was just play on words, yeah. Yes, yes, the occipital sphenoid joint, and then but it articulates with so many other joints that you're you're trying to get the whole skull to process things, move better.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_04So what happens is it's a finger cot, a little balloon that goes on the end of a like um a bulb, actually, okay.
SPEAKER_01Like a little bulb, like um like uh blood pressure, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And so the balloons on there, and then you you have six different spots, one at a time. You feed that in with a uh round toothpick, your face is already changing. It is, and now I when I had this done, I she had one shot on me because she lives in California and I live in Kans City, right? So she did all six and made sure they all adjusted right, and bam, I changed. It was uncomfortable. So I didn't want everyone running out of my office. So like I do it, and I've taken three different trainings at this point in it, and so I do it like to pain tolerance, right? Like, and and Dr. Michelle did it to pain tolerance too. It just was we really needed that change for me. So I go a little bit more gentle, and for some clients, it's just a little bit of pressure, and that's what they can handle to start. And then we do one after the other, all six. It takes about two minutes, right? Like, um, I've got probably about 80% of the people who have it done were like, Well, that wasn't as bad as I thought it was, right? I would say probably only about two percent of the people I've done it on don't ever want me to do it again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that would be me. I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_04And you'd be surprised though. I mean, in your hand, it's so much worse. Like, in every most people describe it, like, feels like there's water, you know, when you go under water and water hits your nose. Yeah, kind of what it feels like.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but it it it just it feels like it would be a lot worse than that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I know, I know it seems like it would be, but it's really not. Okay, it's not as big of a deal as it is in our head.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, now you know, speaking of the when you it's something you said a few minutes ago, right? Like with the tools, the most important tool I have in my office is the chiropractic adjustment. Right, it's the core of my of my practice, right? Like it is it is the most powerful thing here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, but who who's the right candidate for that cranial adjustment?
SPEAKER_04Um, anyone with uh a head injury, but athletes for sure, especially those. Um we, you know, Kansas City was one of the hosts of the World Cup, and actually England is staying right by my office.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome.
SPEAKER_04Um, and I every time I watch a game and I see them hit their head, I'm like, ooh, they need nasal cranial.
SPEAKER_01Love it.
SPEAKER_04Because every time they hit that ball, right, it shifts all those bones.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_04But uh, you know, the athlete, someone who's hit their head, the kid, you know, the the allergy client. And I mean, there's so many uh and and sometimes it's just the client who has challenges with their neck and they're not stabilizing well, right? Like I'm adjusting and they're and they're doing the other things, right? Like they work on their nutrition, their mindset, and all of those pieces, but their neck just is not staying well, and so yeah, that once you stabilize that ox, that occipital sphenoid, the atlas starts to stabilize better, and then the neck can follow.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha. Yeah, okay, gotcha. All right. Now I'm not telling you that I'm running to your office for that. I might be running away from your office. That's fair. I you know, once you don't knock until you try it. I won't, I won't, I'm not knocking. I'm not I always yeah, I'm always open-minded when it comes to these things.
SPEAKER_04Well, and you never want to be the friend, um, the friend I've known for 20, 30 years that walks into my office the week after I've been to a seminar and I'm like, I'm gonna try something.
SPEAKER_00I don't I don't want to be that friend. No, I don't want to be that friend.
SPEAKER_01No, no. Um, all right. So there's there's one more tool I want you to uh get into, and I think it ties uh right back to something you told me also last time. You said it kind of over and over that with um kind of a brain on fire, uh you have to you have to comment first before you can build anything. So you um so so talk to me about uh resimax. What is it? Um I know you mentioned it earlier in our episode now, uh, but what is it and where does it fit?
SPEAKER_04Uh it's this this cool little vibration tool. Um, that's you know, when it comes to uh some sometimes it's the the patient who can't they don't have their sensory has changed, right? Like they've they've had a stroke or they've had an injury and um you know there's a or they're out of balance and so we put it on to whatever leg they're whatever leg they need it, right? After testing, or their arm to get to help balance them out. When it comes to the brain on fire, what we've been doing actually is um I started just putting it right on their heart. And wow, and often when they're in, not always, but often when they're in the rebuilder, because the rebuilder is so grounding, and then that just helps the calming factor. Um, one of the other tools I've I've utilized is put um one on each foot and just leave them in the room for about five minutes by themselves, and it helps that grounding piece.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, the last time so the last time you described your own overwhelm so vividly, um, you know, the grocery store, the lights, the noise. Um, when someone's sitting in your office in that same kind of overwhelm, how does something like Resi Max uh help you actually bring their system down a notch in that moment?
SPEAKER_04It it's incredible, really. It really is, right? Like, and that's a bit of I yeah, I went I did have it last year. Actually, I went to a seminar and I thought that's really cool, and I bought it, and then I really didn't know how to use it. Okay, and and so I used it a little bit, I used it a lot with neuropathy to get to help clients start to feel their feet more. And then um when I went back to a seminar this year, we worked deeper into it, and um the founder of the product was there, so that helped a ton.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_04So um when I came back, I was like, huh, well, let's try this. You know, I know it's not gonna hurt, let's see if it helps. Yeah, and while I was lasering someone, I just I was like, hold on to this. And when they came out, they were like, What is that thing? Wow, yeah, and the other piece, like it has these really cool like this morning. Um, I don't do this every morning, but um, it has a mouthpiece, and that vibration stimulates the cranial nerves because I wanted to be good today.
SPEAKER_01I think I've seen that. I don't remember where I saw that, but I saw something similar to that where they were putting something that vibrates like that. Um, they were biting down on it, I think. Uh yes, yeah, yeah. Um, is this is this something people can like only get in your office or in a office period, or can they can they use something like that at home, like between visits, maybe to keep themselves regulated or something?
SPEAKER_04A hundred percent. We have clients, uh especially depending on their level of overwhelm, we um recommend they buy them for home use.
SPEAKER_01Nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then it's once and then we can do things they can't get at home in the office, sure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, of course, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. So I know you mentioned that the chiropractic adjustment is your main kind of that's the that's the main thing, like keeping the main thing, the main thing. But of your tools, right? Uh, which one um will be really uh I don't know what what maybe standard equipment in every chiropractic office, say in in 10 years? Like which one still gets you um I don't know, gets you skeptical, looks from you know, other I don't know. Just what do you what do you think could be more more like standardized over the next 10 years with the two?
SPEAKER_04Um, I think that the way uh that uh vibration and light is being used is probably gonna be cold laser.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04Already, I mean, cold lasers are already all over chyographic offices. Um, even a client told me yesterday that a dermatologist said they could laser her, and I was like, oh uh, whatever kind of a laser she has. And I have another client that's getting, you know, a cold laser from her optometrist in her eye around her eye.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04So like I think that that's really building because they're seeing how much light can heal if it's on the right spectrum.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um questionslash statement. Yeah. Would you say that the reason any of this works? Um, and I might be saying this wrong, so please correct me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, could have a name, I guess, neuroplasticity, right? That comes into play. The the brain kind of rewires itself, maybe, and forms new connections, um, like your whole life kind of thing, not just like in childhood. Like the old belief was that the adult brain was basically fixed. And I think that got overturned. Is that is that at all accurate what I said?
SPEAKER_04That is that is accurate in a lot of ways, yeah. I'm not exactly I'm not exactly clear on what, but yes, neuroplasticity is the reason so many of these tools and in just the treatment in itself um works, you know, it's morph cells that fire together, wire together, right? Like, so you repeat it and the cells start to grow around it. There's um it's fascinating, actually, yeah. Right, like you repeat a challenge over and over again, and the body starts to adapt to it, builds neuroplasticities, and then the cells grow around it. It's the same with our thoughts, it's the same with our movements, is why we can ride a bike so easily. I even remember like getting popping back on my bike after not riding it for years, sure. And even though, of course, I could still ride it, but watching how quickly my neuroplasticity kicked in to where it became a part of me, right? Like and it's the same reason, right? Like we can we can move neuroplasticity towards our benefit or to our harm.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, of course. That makes sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, so so we're gonna pause it right there, uh, because part two um is the practical half, in my opinion. Uh, we're gonna get into neuropathy, and I've been saying that wrong for a long time, but Dr. Ange corrected me. Um, that thing so many of you um have been told you just have to live with. Um, and we finally give a full segment to a line Dr. Ange left me with the last time that I have not been able to shake. So uh come back for part two. And if this first half gave you something, second to one person who needs it. Uh that's how this show grows. So we'll see you in part two.
